Body of man killed by wild animal found, tiger taken into control



MAKWANPUR: The remains of a man who died in wild animal’s attack in a forest in Makawanpur district has been found at a buffer zone in the district.

The remains were retrieved from the area in between Rapti and Lothar Khola at Manhari rural municipality-6, according to DSP Laxmi Bhandari.

The victim is Hari Poudel, 43, of Rapti municipality in the district who was reportedly mauled to death by a tiger on Friday morning.

Four elephants belonging to the Chitwan National Park were mobilized to take the wild cat under control.

According to DSP Bhandari, the body has been brought to Hetauda Hospital for postmortem examinations and further investigation into the case was underway.

Bhandari explained that a man’s torso was also found with the bones of the parts above the waist from the area and the identity of it is yet to be ascertained.
