Delegation led by NA Chairman leaving for Australia tonight

KATHMANDU: Speakers and Deputy Speakers from seven provinces, led by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, are leaving for Australia tonight.

The 12-member delegation, under Chairman Timilsina’s leadership, will engage in a study tour program focusing on parliamentary practices related to financial and administrative resource allocation.

Ekram Giri, spokesperson of the Federal Parliament, stated that the visit is organized within the framework of the United Nations Development Program’s (UNDP) Parliament Support Project.

During their stay in Australia, the delegation will participate in various meetings and interactions at the Parliament of Australia and the provincial parliaments of New South Wales and Victoria.

The delegation comprises Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari from Sudurpaschim Province Assembly, Nanda Gurung from Karnali, Krishna Prasad Dhital from Gandaki, Deputy Speaker of Koshi Srijana Danuwar, Deputy Speaker of Madhesh Babita Kumari Raut Ishar, Deputy Speaker of Bagmati Apsara Chapagain Khatri, and Deputy Speaker of Lumbini Menuka Khand KC.

The delegation also includes Muslim Commission Chairman Samim Miya Ansari, National Inclusion Commission Member Pushpa Raj Timilsina, Federal Parliament Secretariat Chief Librarian Kamala Sharma, and National Assembly Chairman’s Personal Secretary Richa Pokharel.

Chairman Timilsina is slated to return to Nepal on December 4, while the other members of the delegation are expected to conclude their visit on December 2.
