Nepali national fatally stabbed by friend in Portugal



KATHMANDU: In a tragic incident, a Nepali youth was fatally stabbed by his own friend in Portugal.

The victim has been identified as Dhan Bahadur Chheti, 36, from Kushma Municipality-13, Parbat. According to Umesh Khadka, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association Portugal, Chheti passed away while undergoing treatment.

Chhetri, a resident of Boavista in Odemira, Portugal, was attacked by his roommate Lokendra Gurung, 30, from Putali Bazar-12, Pelka Chaur, on Tuesday night. Reports indicate that Gurung was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the stabbing.

Gurung has been apprehended and is currently under investigation. Both Chhetri and Gurung had been in Portugal for foreign employment.
