Chartered Flight En route: Chinese athletes set to arrive Nepal



POKHARA: Chinese athletes are scheduled to arrive in Nepal on chartered flights to participate in a friendly running competition set to take place in Pokhara on November 25.

The event is a collaborative effort between the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Pokhara Metropolitan City, Yunan Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Association, and Hotel Association Pokhara.

A total of 104 Chinese nationals, including athletes, officials, and other guests, are expected to visit Nepal on November 23. Dhananjaya Regmi, CEO at Nepal Tourism Board, revealed that ten teams, each comprising three athletes from both countries, will be part of the competition.

The primary aim of organizing the event is to strengthen Nepal-China relations and boost tourism. Prizes will be awarded to teams securing the first through fifth positions, with amounts of Rs 330,000, 288,000, 216,000, 144,000, and 90,000 respectively. Additionally, individual awards for the first, second, and third positions will be Rs 144,000, 108,000, and 54,000 respectively.
