Festivals promote a feeling of national unity: President Paudel

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has wished for happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Chhath festival.

In a message of best wishes delivered today on the occasion, the Head of the State expressed his confidence that the festival would help end existing discriminations, anomalies and aberrations prevailing in Nepali society and promote a feeling of national unity among all the Nepali people.

President Paudel wished that such festivals would protect and preserve fundamental culture and further consolidate mutual harmony.

Also on the occasion, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav in his message of best wishes said the Chhath festival would promote collectivism and unity and communicate purity in the mind, expression and action of the people.
