UML Chair Oli warns against accusations towards democratic republic

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli cautioned against accusations aimed at undermining the democratic republic.

In anticipation of a November 23 demonstration under Durga Prasai’s leadership in Kathmandu, Oli emphasized a strong stance against those accusing the democratic republic. He asserted that UML would take a firm stance against such allegations.

Addressing a meeting organized by the party’s mass organization committee in Chyasal, Oli criticized the government’s handling of the country, attributing existing disorder to their governance. He highlighted the need for corrective measures during a youth/student demonstration planned for November 7.

Oli also directed the youth not to breach restricted zones during the demonstration. He criticized the government’s alleged inaction and stated that CPN-UML aimed to halt the country’s deteriorating situation.

Accusing President Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepali Congress (NC) of partisan conduct, Oli questioned Paudel’s actions in Tanahu and Jajarkot, labeling them as undemocratic. He criticized Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ for not adhering to the constitution.

Furthermore, Oli expressed dissatisfaction with Dahal and government ministers’ visits to quake-stricken areas, claiming they behaved as Maoist Center leaders and Ministers, emphasizing a need for constitutional adherence within the government and state agencies.
