Fire destroys hospital, shops in Dhangadhi



DHANGADHI: Property worth million rupees was gutted in fire at a main bazaar of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-1 on Friday night.

The fire erupted from Bhandari General Store belonging to Dal Bahadur Bhandari due to short circuit. The blaze damaged Sarathi Hospital Pvt Ltd as well as other shops run at the building of Food and Trade Company Ltd, said Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kailali, Kuldeep Chand.

Patients admitted at the hospital were shifted to other hospital after the fire. All the goods of Bhandari General Store, Madhumala Baby Shop, Bhatta Shopping Centre, Subhikshya Devi Shopping Centre, New Sadhikshya Enterprises, Bhandari Shoe Centre, Bhatta Traders and Suppliers along with Sarathi Hospital turned into ashes in the blaze.

Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals doused the fire with the help of four fire engines. Details of the loss caused by fire are awaited, said police.
