Kaligandaki exports flower worth Rs 2 million



SYANGJA: Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja district has exported flowers worth Rs 2 million this festive season.

The flower produced by the locals in the rural municipality has been exported to the cities of Pokhara, Butwal and Kathmandu.

Chief of Agriculture Section of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Anup Paudel said that the flower worth Rs 2 million, which was produced by 16 farmers and groups from seven wards of the rural municipality, has been exported so far.

The rural municipality has provided 50 percent in grants to the flower producers in Kaligandaki. Paudel said that flowers worth a total of Rs 2.5 million are expected to be exported until this Tihar festival.

For the production of flowers, the rural municipality had provided Rs 9,000 in grants per ropani and the farmers were also provided with consultations and technical assistance for free.
