Over Rs 31 lakhs collected in Disaster Management Fund to aid earthquake victims



RUKUM WEST: The District Disaster Management Committee Rukum West has collected a sum of Rs 31,14,146 in response to the recent earthquake that struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot on November 3.

This amount has been contributed by various organizations and individuals, reflecting a unified effort to support those adversely affected by the natural disaster.

Assistant Chief District Officer Prabesh Bodhuwal stated that the funds were gathered through the collaboration of 20 different organizations and individuals.

As of November 9, the amount is verifiable through bank statements, cash bank vouchers, and phone pay.

Due to the temporary closure of banks, the released funds will be made available after the aforementioned date.

The ongoing process of depositing assistance funds into the local disaster management fund signifies a commitment to aiding the earthquake victims.

Assistant Chief District Officer Badhuwal stated that the accumulated funds will be disbursed in accordance with the Disaster Victim Rescue and Relief (Seventh Amendment) Standards, 2077, and the existing laws pertaining to disaster management.
