KATHMANDU: The Bagmati Province government has joined forces with Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality to push forward the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

It has been agreed that the investment will be divided, with 70 percent coming from the province and 30 percent from the metropolis. DP Dhakal, advisor to Bagmati Chief Minister Salikram Jamkattel, announced that Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality will promptly invite tenders worth 750 million rupees.

The decision was made under the leadership of Chief Minister Jamkattel, in the presence of the Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of Social Development, the Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, and the Chief Secretary of the province, as stated by Dhakal on social media. This development is a positive development for sports enthusiasts.

The construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium, initiated by the comedy duo Sitaram Kattel ‘Dhurmus’ and Kunjana Ghimire ‘Suntali,’ had come to a halt due to budget constraints, despite the initial groundwork and pillar installation for the parapet.
