NC reschedules Mahasamiti meeting

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has rescheduled the date of the Mahasamiti meeting.

Originally scheduled to be held from November 29 to December 1, the meeting will now take place from December 15 to December 18.

Min Bishwakarma, the Head of the Nepali Congress Publicity Department, said that the date of the Mahasamiti meeting has been rescheduled, citing the lack of an appropriate venue.

Meanwhile, the party has also halted all programs planned before Tihar due to the recent Jajarkot earthquake.

Bishwakarma highlighted the party’s concern over the recent devastating earthquake in Jajarkot and emphasized the need for immediate rescue, relief, and rehabilitation for the affected communities.

The party has also drawn the government’s attention to the urgency of the situation.

Furthermore, the Nepali Congress has also intended to establish a monitoring and facilitation committee to oversee and prevent any irregularities in the distribution of relief materials.

This committee will be responsible for on-site monitoring, material mobilization, and coordination with both the state machinery and the party.
