T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers: Nepal loses to Oman in Super Over

Both Nepal and Oman qualify for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024



KATHMANDU: In the final of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, Nepal lost to Oman in the Super Over.

Oman won the Super Over in the match held on Sunday at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

Earlier, Oman scored 184 runs for the loss of nine wickets while chasing the target of 185 runs given by Nepal. For Oman, Kashyap Prajapati scored 63, Aqib Ilyas scored 33, Zeeshan Maqsood scored 26 and Mohammad Naseem scored 24.

For Nepal, Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each and Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha, Abinash Bohora, and Bibek Yadav took one wicket each.

Nepal, who batted earlier, scored 184 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Rohit Paudel and Gulsan Jha scored fifties for Nepal. Paudel scored 52 runs in 37 balls and Jha scored 54 runs in 25 balls.

Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel scored 31, Karan KC 20, Aashif Sheikh 6, Kushal Malla three and Bibek Yadav one.

For Oman, Bilal Khan took three wickets, Aqib Ilyas two, and Zeeshan Maqsood one.

Both Nepal and Oman have qualified themselves for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the USA and West Indies.
