4 NA aircraft deployed to earthquake-affected area



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has dispatched four military helicopters to support ongoing search and rescue operations in the earthquake-stricken Jajarkot district on Saturday.

Nepal Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, announced that soldiers from two battalions have been deployed for search and rescue missions.

The earthquake, which struck Ramedanda in Jajarkot, caused significant damage to Khalanga Bazar and Nalgarh Municipality in the Bheri Municipality of Jajarkot. The disaster has claimed 132 lives in Rukum West and Jajarkot, with 140 people sustaining injuries.

Brigadier General Bhandari disclosed that a team, equipped with medical supplies, was swiftly transported from Kathmandu to the affected area using a cargo plane and three helicopters.

Additionally, a 16-member medical team has been dispatched to the affected area to provide treatment to the injured.
