Over 8,000 pilgrims visit Pathivara on Tuesday

TAPLEJUNG: More than 8,000 pilgrims visited the renowned religious site, Pathivara, situated at an altitude of 3,794 meters above sea level in Taplejung, a hilly district in the east of Nepal on Tuesday.

On Tuesday alone, as many as 8,500 visitors arrived and performed puja at the pilgrimage site.

An employee at Pathivara Temple Area, Rajendra Mahat, reported that they recorded the highest number of arrivals at the religious site on Tuesday – the highest since the beginning of the fiscal year.

Previously, they had witnessed the arrival of 6,600 people in a single day during the Dashain festival.

However, today’s surge in pilgrim arrivals broke the record. Managing the queue for conducting puja conveniently has been a challenge in recent years.

The Pathivara Area Development Committee and the Pathivara Devi Temple Preservation and Promotion Committee have been coordinating and leading the management of visitors’ arrivals and worship.

The Committee stated that a total of 25,368 devotees visited Pathivara from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Poornima.

However, the number of pilgrims has sharply increased. The current weather is favorable for visiting Pathivara, and road repairs are also underway.
