Police arrest three more people in Rupesh Sarraf murder case

BARA: Police have made progress in the investigation of the murder of Rupesh Sarraf, the Principal of Bal Ekata English Boarding School in Kalaiya, Bara.

Following the recent arrest of three individuals in connection with the case, police announced the detention of three more suspects, including a former teacher from the same school.

Superintendent of Police Suresh Kafle confirmed the arrests shedding light on the ongoing developments in the case.

According to Bara’s police spokesperson, DSP Dadhiram Neupane, the detained individuals comprise three Nepalese and three Indian nationals, with the female suspect being of Nepalese descent.

At this juncture, police have chosen not to disclose the identities of those arrested.

Preliminary findings suggest a possible motive rooted in personal grievances rather than a premeditated plan, police said.

Meanwhile, it has been brought to light that the police are considering the potential involvement of other individuals in the incident.

“We are actively pursuing additional suspects linked to the case,” SP Kafle stated.

“Upon their arrest, a press conference will be organized to disclose the complete sequence of events leading to this tragic occurrence,” police said

Notably, the arrest female suspect was identified as a former teacher at the school where the deceased principal was employed.

The incident that led to the demise of Rupesh Sarraf transpired on Monday afternoon, as a group of four assailants on two motorcycles opened fire at the victim in the vicinity of Kalaiya-6 Madrasah area.

Sustaining fatal injuries from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, Sarraf succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital in Birgunj.
