Mugu killings: police claim significant progress in investigations



MUGU: In regard to investigations into the killings of four members of a family in Mugu, police said it made significant progress and reached near probable killer(s).

A mother and her three children were killed in Mandu village of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-6 a few days back. The victims are Sridevi Bohara, 28, her 11-year-old son Manoj, her eight-year-old daughter Apsara, and eight-month-old son Rahar, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Thapa at the district police office.

As Thapa said, they have gathered significant evidence surrounding the crime.

“We are currently busy in the collection of evidence and the interrogation of suspects, and once we reach a conclusion, we will inform the media.” He further added that the investigation is being carried out from all possible angles.

The bodies have now been taken to District Hospital Mugu for post-mortem examinations.

They were found with fatal stab wounds inside their home on October 26, with the incident likely occurring during the night of October 27. Sridevi’s spouse, Deepak Bohora, returned home today from foreign employment in Qatar.

The Nepal Police have deployed a special team assisted by a sniffer dog for the investigations.
