UN Secretary-General calls on NC President Deuba



KATHMANDU: Visiting United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today paid a courtesy call to Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

In the meeting held at the New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament building, the two exchanged views on Nepal’s peace process, and the climate change issues among others, according to NC Vice President and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung, who was also present in the meeting.

The UN Secretary-General’s delegation to the four-day official trip to Nepal beginning today comprises UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Jean Pierre Lacroix, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations to Nepal Hanaa Singer-Hamdy, and other officials from the UN.
