Argha Bhagawati temple receives more tourists



ARGHAKHANCHI: The Argha Bhagawati temple, one of the key religious and tourist destinations in Arghakhanchi district has received more religious tourists in this year’s Dashain festival.

The temple has Asia’s largest idol of Goddess Bhagawati. The 21-foot-tall idol of the Goddess Bhagawati is one of the attractions for the visitors there.

The visitors coming to Lumbini and Supa Deurali are lured to visit Argha Bhagawati temple, it is said.

Priest of the temple, Keshav Raj Acharya, said that religious scriptures including Devi Bhagawati, Veda and Durga Shaptashati are being recited in the temple from Ghatasthapana and it would continue until Kojagrat Purnmina.

The local residents also perform Saraye Naach (dance) on Kojagrat Purnmina.

Chairman of the temple conservation committee Saroj Bhusal said that the locals have been worshipping in the temple since the Lichchhavi dynasty.
