Bodies of four Nepalis killed in Israel handed over to their families



SUDURPASCHIM: The bodies of four out of 10 Nepalis students killed in Israel have been handed over to their respective families in Sudurpaschim Province on Sunday.

The bodies of the slain students namely Lokendra Singh Dhami of Malikarjun rural municipality ward no 4 in Darchula district, Dipeshraj Bista of Lekam rural municipality ward no 5, Narayan Prasad Neupane of Ghodaghodi Municipality ward no 4 in Kailali district and Ashish Chaudhary of Bauniya-3 in Kailali district were handed over to their respective families and relatives at the Dhangadi Airport.

Altogether 10 Nepali youths lost their lives in the Hamas militant group’s attack on October 7 in Gaza, Israel.

A Nepali student-Bipin Joshi from Bhimdutta-3 in Kanchanpur district, has been missing since the incident.

The Nepal Army’s chopper has flown the bodies from Kathmandu to Dhangadi Airport.

In this hour of grief, Sudurpaschim Province’s Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Ramesh Singh Dhami, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress in Province Assembly Bikram Singh Dhami, the teachers at the Sudurpaschim University where the deceased students were studying as well as the bereaved families and relatives among others reached the Dhangadi Airport and offered tributes to the departed souls.

According to Sushil Neupane, Principal of School of Agriculture, Agriculture Science Faculty at Tikapur, altogether 49 students from their institute had been to Israel under the 11-month ‘Learn and Earn’ course.

Among them 17 got attacked in the violent attack while 10 succumbed to the deadly incident.

Of the ten Nepalis youths killed in the attack, seven are from Sudurpaschim Province.
