President Paudel extends Bada Dashain greetings

President Ramchandra Paudel has expressed confidence that the festival of Bada Dashain would inspire one and all to promote social goodwill, unity, reconciliation, and brotherhood by ending all sorts of ill practices.

In a message of Bada Dashain today, the President has wished that may this festival provide strength to all Nepalis to obtain economic prosperity along with justice and equality. “This festival is the festival of victory of truth and defeat of evil character; the victory of virtue over vice and a symbol of goodwill, brotherhood, and reunion.”

Tri-nation T20 series: Nepal makes place in final, defeats Hong Kong by 79 runs

With the record-breaking partnership of Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee, Nepal secured an easy 79-run victory over Hong Kong and secured a place in the final of the T20 triangular series.

With their third consecutive win, Nepal advanced to the finals in the triangular series, leaving just one match remaining.

Chasing Nepal’s target of 214 runs, Hong Kong could only muster 134 runs after losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Earlier, Nepal won the toss and chose to bat in the match played at Mulpani Cricket Ground, Kathmandu.

Dengue infections surpass 40,000 in Nepal

With the end of the monsoon season in the Kathmandu Valley, the incidence of dengue cases is on the rise.

In most of the hospitals within the Valley, the number of patients being admitted due to complications arising from dengue continues to escalate.

Experts have warned that the risk of dengue infections might further escalate in certain districts.

As per the latest data from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, the outbreak of dengue, which had turned into a pandemic in the Kathmandu Valley last year, has shown an upward trend in several districts, including the Valley, over the past few days.

Bodies of four Nepali students killed in Israel attack to arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow

The Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv has confirmed that the bodies of four Nepali students, who tragically lost their lives in an attack by Hamas in Israel, will arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow (Sunday).

The embassy has organized their repatriation, with the bodies of Narayan Prasad Neupane, Lokendra Singh Dhami, Dipeshraj Bista, and Ashish Chaudhary, scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Sunday morning (October 22).

The Fly Dubai flight, with the remains on board, is set to depart from Tel Aviv to Dubai on Saturday, with subsequent arrangements for the final leg of the journey to Kathmandu via another Flydubai flight.

Govt formation in Koshi won’t impact ruling coalition in other places: Dr. Shekhar Koirala

Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has asserted that the government formation in the Koshi province will not disrupt the ruling coalition at the federal level and other provinces.

Leader Koirala, who hails from Biratnagar, made this statement during a conversation with members media at the Biratnagar airport.

He explained that the collaboration with the CPN-UML in forming the government was primarily aimed at postponing the mid-term elections, given the intricate dynamics of the Koshi province assembly.

Badri KC sworn in as NRNA President; rival candidates convene emergency press conference

Badri KC has officially assumed office as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

However, the other two presidential candidates, RK Sharma and Mahesh Shrestha, have raised allegations against the KC camp, claiming that the election was compromised through system hacking. They expressed their frustration, accusing KC of securing victory through manipulation, and vowed to reject the election results.

In spite of the objections raised by the two opposing candidates, the entire working committee, including Badri KC, was sworn in. Subsequently, Shrestha and Sharma’s group called for an impromptu press conference at Hotel Himalaya in the capital, scheduled for 5 pm on Saturday.
