KATHMANDU: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is scheduled to visit Nepal on October 29, marking a rescheduled trip that was earlier postponed.
As confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary General Guterres is expected to touch down in Kathmandu on the morning of October 29.
Initially slated for October 13, his visit was deferred in the wake of the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ extended the invitation for Secretary-General Guterres to visit Nepal during his attendance at the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
In the meantime, subsequent to the anticipated meeting with Secretary General Guterres upon his arrival in Nepal, his Secretariat has indicated a restructured agenda for the Foreign Minister’s upcoming visit to the United States.
“United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is arriving in Nepal on the night of October 29,” shared the Secretariat of the Foreign Minister.
