Digression from BP’s thoughts dents NC: Dr. Sashank Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Sashank Koirala has said NC is stronger than other parties due to its glorious history and ideology. However, digression from BP Koirala’s thoughts has dented the party much in recent times, he argued.

Addressing a greetings exchange program organized by the Nepal Student Union Lamjung-Kathmandu Contact Committee in the federal capital today, leader Koirala warned of fading BP’s thoughts in the NC.

“NC had been moving ahead on the foundation of BP’s thoughts. The government led by BP Koirala had paved the way for development in Nepal,” he reminded, urging the cadres to commit to development and prosperity by utilizing most of the national potential.

On the occasion, leader Dil Bahadur Gharti claimed that the country witnessed peace and stability following the 12-point agreement and constitution brought under the leadership of the Nepali Congress. Now, NC bears the major responsibility of enforcing the constitution effectively, he emphasized.

Central members Nanu Bastola and Laxmi Khatiwada also said various elements were maneuvering against NC, so a cautious move is imperative.

Lamjung district committee chair of NC, Dr Takraj Gurung, and former chair Bhesh Bahadur Paudel viewed the NC cadres staying in Kathmandu as having a role to make NC victorious in Lamjung.
On the occasion, other speakers viewed that NC’s organization needs expansion.

The contact committee chair Pradip Raj Giri said youth generation’s intervention is must in the party.
