Four-lane Ghorahi-Tulsipur roadway to begin soon: Minister Sharma

TULSIPUR: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, shared that the construction works of the Ghorahi-Tulsipur four-lane road project were being implemented soon.

Minister Sharma said it at a program organized by the CPN (Maoist Centre) at Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-16 in Dang district today to exchange greetings for upcoming festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath.

Sharma informed that a tender notice would be issued for the project immediately after Tihar.

The existing Ghorai-Tulsipur road would be upgraded into four lanes for which, according to the Minister, a feasibility study and other surveys had already been carried out. Furthermore, discussions on the same with the relevant Minister and agencies were underway.

Currently, the road is undergoing maintenance. Earlier, the upgrading of the dilapidated road was stalled for five years, causing traffic problems and even leading to many road mishaps.

On the occasion, Minister Sharma said Rs 300 million was allocated to construct a building for the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences for conducting the MBBS program.
