KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of the Central Work Performance Committee of the party at 3 pm today.
According to NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the meeting is scheduled to take place at Party President Deuba’s residence in Dhumbarahi.
The internal conflict within the NC has surfaced as NC lawmakers have refused to comply with the party headquarters’ decision to maintain the political coalition and support CPN-Maoist Center leader Indra Angbo for the position of Chief Minister in Koshi Province.
With support from Dr. Shekhar Koirala, NC lawmaker Kedar Karki has submitted his candidacy for the position of Koshi Chief Minister. Karki has presented his claim with the signatures of 39 CPN-UML lawmakers and eight NC lawmakers in the province.
