10 Nepalis confirmed dead in Hamas attack on Israel
In what can be dubbed a devastating incident, 10 Nepali students lost their lives in Israel as a result of a Hamas attack, as confirmed by Kanta Rijal, the Nepalese Ambassador to Israel. According to eyewitness accounts from Nepali nationals present at the scene, a bomb struck the location where these students were pursuing their studies in Israel.
CIB recommends prosecution of three, including former Speaker Mahara’s son
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police has recommended to the district attorney’s office that three individuals, including Rahul Mahara, the son of former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, face prosecution on charges of illegal gold smuggling involving electronic cigarettes (vape). The CIB has submitted a report expressing its opinion to prosecute Rahul Mahara, a Belgian citizen of Tibetan origin named Dawa Chhiring, and driver Lokendra Paudel, along with Chinese citizen Dawajin Wang, all of whom are implicated in the gold smuggling case.
Govt committed to rescue Nepalis in Israel: Foreign Minister Saud
In response to the recent security threats faced by Nepali citizens in Israel due to the Hamas attack, the Government of Nepal is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad, Foreign Minister NP Saud, said. During a session of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday, Foreign Minister Saud provided an update on the situation. He underscored the government’s commitment to the safety of Nepali nationals in Israel and outlined the steps being taken to address the crisis.
Nepalis in Israel make desperate appeal for safety
In the wake of the recent Palestinian militant attacks in Israel, a Nepalese resident, Bipin Subedi, currently residing in Israel, has made an urgent appeal for assistance and safety for himself and fellow Nepalis. Subedi, a member of the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Modernization Project Implementation Unit in Dang, found himself caught in the crossfire while leading a group of students from Sudurpaschim University.

Home Minister shows concern over status of Nepali nationals in Israel
Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has shown serious concern over the situation of the Nepali citizens in Israel facing hardship due to the ongoing battle between Hamas, the Palestinian militant group and the Israeli Army since Saturday morning. The Home Minister contacted Nepal’s ambassador to Israel, Kanta Rijal and Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, Hanan Goder and took information on the status of the Nepali nationals caught up in the war and their rescue.
Local levels owe Rs 6.9 billion to NEA
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has said that 332 local levels are yet to settle their outstanding electricity tariff dues for the usage of street lights. In a notice, the NEA has made public the names of these local levels that have not fulfilled their street light fee obligations. The NEA has issued a warning, stating that if the outstanding fees are not cleared within 45 days, legal actions will be taken against the defaulting entities.

Govt-operated fair price shops ahead of festivals starts today

These shops, which offer essential daily goods at affordable prices, have established at various locations nationwide. The State-run Food Management and Trade Company, Salt Trading, and the Dairy Development Board will oversee these fair price outlets until November 19.
Army Chief Sharma leaves for UK
Chief of the Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma has today left for the United Kingdom on a six-day official visit at the invitation of the British Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Patrick Sanders. Defense secretary Kiran Raj Sharma and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Saroj Pratap Rana bid farewell to the Army Chief Sharma at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
