CPN-UML Koshi Province Convention to begin today in Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR: The CPN-UML Koshi Province Convention begins in Biratnagar today, marking the beginning of the party’s significant political event.

This convention will play a role in selecting the party’s new leadership for the upcoming three years.

The CPN-UML, boasting a substantial membership of 95,139 in the Koshi province, will host a gathering of 1,050 representatives drawn from 137 local levels, 23 people’s organizations, Dalits, and workers.

As of now, 997 representatives have been nominated, leaving a remaining five percent of positions yet to be filled due to internal disputes that have hindered the selection process.

Party insiders said that the current Provincial Chairperson, Tulsi Neupane, who is seeking re-election, has been advocating for the nomination of party representatives.

In contrast, another contender for the chairmanship, Binod Dhakal, has been supporting the idea of refraining from nominating party representatives.
