22 policemen go out of contact, Police Headquarters instructs to report within 7 days

KATHMANDU: The Police Headquarters has issued a directive to 22 policemen who have remained out of contact for over a month, requiring them to reestablish communication within a seven-day window.

In a notice published on Wednesday, the Police Headquarters instructed these police personnel, who have been incommunicado, to promptly reappear within the stipulated seven-day timeframe.

These police personnel are stationed in various offices across different districts and have been unresponsive for more than a month.

The Police Headquarters revealed that these officers have voluntarily abstained from their duty stations since various dates and have failed to maintain any form of contact with their respective offices, even after completing the procedures outlined in Rule 115 (2) of the Police Regulations, 2071.

The notice explicitly states, “It is mandatory for these officers to appear either at the police headquarters or at the office that issued this notice, providing a satisfactory explanation within seven days from the publication date of this notice.”

Furthermore, the notice contains a stern warning regarding potential repercussions, in accordance with Section 109 (b) (1) of the Police Regulations, 2071, for non-compliance.
