One dead, three injured in Rupandehi clash

RUPANDEHI: A violent clash following the Vishwakarma Puja celebration in Tilottama, Rupandehi, has resulted in one fatality and three individuals sustaining injuries.

The clash unfolded on Monday, shortly after the conclusion of Vishwakarma Puja.

Initial investigations, led by DSP Dan Bahadur Thapa, Head of Area Police Office in Butwal, suggest that the altercation occurred when laborers from the construction industry in Tilottama-9 Kewalani gathered to celebrate and enjoy themselves after the puja.

It appears that post-puja festivities involved alcohol consumption and dancing, eventually leading to a confrontation among the participants. Due to the sensitivity of the incident, authorities have initiated a thorough investigation.

Suresh Syangtang of Mangalapur, Rupandehi got critically injured during the brawl and succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

Additionally, Bikas Waiba from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-1, Raju Tamang from Gadhi Rural Municipality in Makwanpur, and Hastasinh Tamang from the same locale sustained injuries during the clash.

The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at the Universal Medical College in Bhairahawa.

The police detained 13 individuals suspected of involvement in the violent altercation.
