KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has called upon General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and leader Pradeep Poudel for a discussion.

A central member closely associated with leader Koirala disclosed that the meeting has been convened with the objective of involving Bishwa-Pradeep in their group. This meeting marks the first interaction between Koirala and Bishwa-Pradeep following the 14th Convention of the party.

There had been indications that some leaders from that faction were making efforts to bring Bishwa-Pradeep into the Shekhar-Gagan group. Bishwa-Pradeep will participate in the discussion two days ahead of the central committee meeting.

The meeting will take place at Dr. Koirala’s liaison office in Baluwatar on Tuesday, September 19. Additionally, central members from the Shekhar-Gagan faction will be in attendance, enhancing the group’s cohesion.

“Bishwa-Pradeep’s input will also be sought,” a leader from the Shekhar-Gagan faction stated, adding, “This meeting is part of our preparations for the central committee meeting scheduled for September 21.”

It was not possible to hold the meeting of this particular group before the Central Committee meeting in July.

A few days ago, leader Arjun Narasimha KC organized a meeting with Vishwa-Pradeep. The meeting tasked central member Bal Bahadur KC with coordinating a meeting involving Vishwa-Pradeep, in consultation with leader Shekhar.
