Patient attendants to get quarters at Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital



KHAJURA, BANKE: A quarter for patient attendants has been constructed on the premises of Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital at Khajura, Banke.

The building for patient attendants was constructed with the financial assistance of the Lions Club of International Foundation and Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital.

Lions International provided Rs 11.15 million while the hospital pledged Rs 3.76 million for the same, said Chairperson of Lions Club of Nepalgunj, Krishna Bhandari.

The compulsion of the attendants to patients for staying in hotels would be ended once the quarters come into operation. It has 15 rooms.

Meanwhile, activities to bring the most awaited LINAC Machine into operation have reached the final phase at the hospital. The LINAC is the device most commonly used for external beam radiation treatment for cancer patients.

The cancer patients here are compelled to visit Bharatpur Cancer Hospital and Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital for the service because of the lack of such machines.

A team comprising 20 specialist doctors has been providing health treatment services in the hospital.
