One more individual arrested in gold smuggling case



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested another individual in connection with the 61-kilogram gold smuggling case.

Shiv Kumar Safar from Bara was taken into custody by the police.

This arrest brings the total number of individuals arrested in connection with the 61 kg gold seizure at Kathmandu’s Sinamangal customs to 27.

The detainees include Chinese businessmen and Nepali nationals who have been linked to the case.

Among those arrested is Rahul Mahara, the son of former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Additionally, the police have also questioned Dipesh, the son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun Pasang in relation to the case.
