KATHMANDU: There is a chance of rainfall, including in Kathmandu, and the possibility of storms in certain areas of the Terai region throughout the country today, the Weather Forecasting Division said.

Currently, the weather has transitioned from partial to normal across the country, with light rain occurring in some areas of Koshi Province and a few spots in the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, according to Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti.

According to a weather forecast bulletin issued by the Division, the country is likely to expect light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers and lightning in a few locations within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini states, as well as some spots in the remaining provinces.

Additionally, there is a potential for storms in several places in the Terai region of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.

Similarly, tonight, light to moderate rain is expected in several areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with one or two places in the other provinces experiencing the same.

The Division has also issued a warning and advisory for the next 24 hours, until 6 am on Saturday, cautioning that river water levels may rise slightly, and there is a risk of calamities such as landslides, floods, erosion, and other related events.
