Rahul Gandhi granted bail in bank defamation case

NEW DELHI: Leader of Indian Congress Rahul Gandhi has been granted bail in a criminal defamation suit filed by Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank, Indian media reports have said.

When the metropolitan court judge asked Rahul if he accepts his crime during the hearing, Rahul said that he was not a criminal. He was present for the case hearing at the court, which granted him bail on a bond of Rs 15,000.

The case was filed in 2018 Rahul and Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala had blamed the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank of involving in a ‘scam’ to swap Rs 745.59 crore.
