Paropakar Maternity Hospital, Bir Hospital inaugurated

KATHMANDU: Japan has handed over new buildings of the Paropakar Maternity & Women’s Hospital and Bir Hospital to the Ministry of Health and Population in the respective hospital premises today.

While Prime Minister K P Oli inaugurated the new building of the Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital Oli, the new building of the Bir Hospital was inaugurated by Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav.

Japan’s Ambassador to Nepal Masamichi Saigo and the Chief Representative of JICA Nepal Office Yumiko Asakuma were also present on the occasion, according to a statement issued by the Embassy of Japan said.

The statement said Japan aims to support the provision of quality and safe health services to the people in Nepal through the reconstruction of these buildings.

On the occasion, Ambassador Masamichi SAIGO said that the reconstruction of the buildings would provide quality reproductive health service to Nepali women as well as essential care for the mother and their newborn babies.
