1 injured, 3 missing as landslide buries house in Khotang



KHOTANG: Three people went missing and another sustained injuries when a landslide buried their house at Baplukha in Khotehang Rural Municipality-2 in the district.

According to District Police Office, Khotang, Bishnu Rai, 31, sustained injuries and other three family members – his wife, daughter and son have gone missing.

The landslide struck their house while they were sleeping in that on early Friday, police quoted Shyam Rai, Bishnu’s elder brother, as saying.

A rescue team from Area Police Office, Khotang Bazaar has been deployed in the incident site. Balpukha lies in an isolated area of the district, which is deprived of telecommunication facilities and electricity.

The landslide had fallen onto the house from about 400 km above, said police.
