KATHMANDU: The legal action involving 290 defendants implicated in the Lalita Residence land case in Baluwatar will focus solely on allegations of fraudulence, rather than organized crime.
On Sunday, the District Public Prosecutor’s Office officially filed charges against those individuals connected to the case, specifically citing fraudulent activities.
However, it’s noteworthy that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) of the Nepal Police had previously recommended pursuing charges encompassing both fraudulence and organized crime.
Regarding the Lalita Niwas land case in Baluwatar, Achyut Mani Neupane, the head of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, clarified, “The filed case pertains exclusively to instances of fraudulence.”
Neupane further explained, “Insufficient evidence exists to warrant charges related to organized crime.”
