KAVREPALANCHOWK: While the main opposition party CPN-UML is constantly obstructing the parliament, the party’s Vice Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang has remarked that obstruction of the House of Representatives is not constitutional.

In a program organized in Dhulikhel, Nembang recalled that there was a serious discussion about not obstructing the parliament while making the constitution.

“Parliament obstruction is not consistent with the laws, not according to the spirit of the Constitution,” the UML Vice Chair said, adding, “However, the political parties obstruct finding some reasons.”

UML has been obstructing the parliament for more than a month demanding the formation of a high-level investigation committee to probe the gold smuggling cases in Nepal.

Nembang was the Speaker of the Constituent Assembly that drafted and enforced the Constitution in 2015.
