Priority given to development of Nepalgunj: CM Chaudhary



BANKE: Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary has asserted that Lumbini Province government has accorded high priority to the overall development of Nepalgunj city.

Addressing a gathering of party cadres organized by the Nepali Congress (NC), Banke chapter here today, CM Chaudhary pledged to take utmost initiative for overall development of Nepalgunj, stating that it was a center point of the western Nepal and a major industrial city of Lumbini Province.

“Being a resident of Nepalgunj, I will be dedicated towards the development of this city. You all also work for this cause from your respective places,” he urged.

Stating that inundation and flood were problems recurring in Nepalgunj, Chief Minister Chaudhary shared that the Lumbini Province government had made necessary plans to minimize inundation and soil erosion caused by flood in Rapti River and Mankhola in Nepalgunj.

He mentioned that that province government had allocated budget for the upliftment of all endangered indigenous communities in the province such as Chidimar and Managta among others, calling for effective implementation of the budget.

“I will implement the suggestions furnished by you for overall development of Banke district and the entire Lumbini Province,” added CM Chaudhary.

Similarly, NC Banke chapter President Narayan Prasad Gaudel requested CM Chaudhary for making a special initiative to minimize inundation and soil erosion in Banke district.
