KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina met with President Ramchandra Paudel.
Speaker Ghimire’s press advisor Shekhar Adhikari said that Speaker Ghimire and NA Chairperson had a meeting with President Paudel at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas on Friday morning.
They discussed ending the ongoing obstruction in the Parliament.
Sources within Sheetal Niwas indicate President Paudel’s strong commitment to swiftly resolving the impasse within the Parliament.
Just recently (Thursday), he brought up this matter during a conversation with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.
Speaker Ghimire has been actively working to bring the parliamentary deadlock to an expedient conclusion.
He has engaged in talks with leaders from both the ruling political parties and the opposition, in order to find a resolution to the current impasse.
The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has been continuously causing disruptions in their demand to establish a high-level committee to investigate a significant gold smuggling case involving a substantial quantity of gold.
