HoR and National Assembly meetings taking place today

KATHMANDU: Meetings of the House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) are taking place today.

While the National Assembly meeting will be held at 11:00 am, the HoR meeting will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday.

During the National Assembly proceedings, Chairman Ganesh Timilsina will unveil the contents of the President’s letter, granting approval to a key legislative Bill.

In a parallel vein, Jayanti Devi Rayee, Chairperson of the Legislation Management Committee, will present a diverse array of five agendas, among them the comprehensive study report outlining the remaining constitutional laws to be formulated.

Meanwhile, recent events have been marred by disruptions, prompting the postponement of Wednesday’s House of Representatives meeting.

This obstruction has been attributed to the CPN-UML, the main opposition party, which has fervently pressed for the establishment of a high-level inquiry committee to investigate a case of alleged gold smuggling.
