KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel and Speaker Devraj Ghimire are set to meet at Sheetal Niwas today for discussions aimed at ending the ongoing obstruction within the Parliament.

Sources within Sheetal Niwas indicate President Paudel’s strong commitment to swiftly resolving the impasse within the Parliament.

Just recently (Thursday), he brought up this matter during a conversation with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.

Speaker Ghimire has been actively working to bring the parliamentary deadlock to an expedient conclusion.

He has engaged in talks with leaders from both the ruling political parties and the opposition, in order to find a resolution to the current impasse.

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has been continuously causing disruptions in their demand to establish a high-level committee to investigate a significant gold smuggling case involving a substantial quantity of gold.

It’s worth noting that despite extensive discussions between key figures from the ruling parties, including Prime Minister Dahal, and the prominent leaders of the primary opposition party UML, under the initiative of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, a viable solution has yet to be reached.
