KATHMANDU: Machhindra FC, a prominent Nepali ‘A’ Division Club, is set to clash with Bhutan’s Paro FC today in a highly anticipated match of the AFC Cup tournament.

The showdown between Machhindra and Paro FC will unfold at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwar, scheduled for a kick-off at 5:30 PM today.

This face-off holds immense significance as the victor of this encounter will earn the privilege to challenge India’s formidable Mohan Bagan Super Giants in the second leg, scheduled for August 16.

Speaking about the preparations for the tournament, Kishore KC, the adept coach of the Nepali team, expressed confidence in the caliber of players that Machhindra FC has brought on board.

Adding to the team’s sentiments, captain and goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha conveyed the team’s readiness for triumph, even in the face of limited practice opportunities.

In the opposing camp, Pushpalal Sharma, the coach of Paro FC, highlighted their advantageous position due to their participation in the ongoing Premier League in Bhutan, which has contributed to their well-rounded preparation.
