Maoist Center’s CC meeting begins in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the ruling Maoist Center has begun at the Pragya Bhawan (Nepal Academy), Kamaladi in Kathmandu.

The party, which had earlier decided to live-stream the meeting to take place from August 2 to 7, has decided not to live-stream the meeting owing to “pressure” coming from party members.

The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s office bearers on Monday morning, according to General Secretary Dev Gurung.

Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has been assigned the task of preparing the political report to be presented at the meeting.

It is worth noting that the Nepali Congress recently live-streamed its own Central Committee meeting as well.

As many as 758 persons, including 385 full central members, 198 alternative central members, 75 members of three committees and 100 province office-bearers and members would attend the central committee meeting, the Maoist party said.
