Culture of demanding instant resignation inappropriate: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his disapproval of the practice of demanding immediate resignations from Prime Ministers and Ministers.

During a conversation with journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his return from Rome, Italy on Friday morning, the Prime Minister was asked about the CPN-UML’s demand for the resignation of the Home Minister and Finance Minister over the gold smuggling issue.

In response, he stated, “It is not appropriate to ask for the instant resignation of the Prime Minister, Home Minister or Finance Minister on any issue.”

Prime Minister Dahal emphasized that he would need to be informed about the latest developments from the Home Minister and other ministers before commenting on the gold smuggling as well other issues.
