KATHMANDU: The hearing on the writ petition that was registered by questioning the constitutionality of the formation of a government in Koshi province has been set for today.
The hearing was postponed until Thursday due to insufficiency of time to complete the hearing over the case on Wednesday.
A full bench of apex court justices comprising Iswori Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Til Prasad Shrestha heard the case on Wednesday.
It may be noted that a divisional bench of the SC justices, Sushma Lata Mathema and Til Prasad Shrestha on Monday issued an order to hear the case in full bench.
Former Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Bahadur Karki on July 7 had registered a writ petition at Supreme Court, saying the appointment process of Chief Minister in Koshi Province was unconstitutional.
On a preliminary hearing over the writ, a single bench of SC Justice Sapana Malla Pradhan on July 12 had issued an order in the name of the Koshi province government to not carry out any work with far-reaching impact and furnish reply in writing.
