HoR meeting adjourned after UML protest, next meeting on July 31



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned, on Wednesday, due to the obstruction of the main opposition party CPN-UML.

The UML lawmakers, who started protest immediately after the commencement of the HoR meeting today, had allowed the meeting till the lawmakers finished their deliberations on gold smuggling scam.However, when Speaker Devraj Ghimire attempted to start the zero hour, UML lawmakers surrounded the rostrum shouting slogans against the government.

They demanded action against the mastermind behind the smuggling case.

UML demanded the resignation of Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha and Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat for their alleged failure to reach to the main culprit in the incident.

After UML MPs surrounded the rostrum, Speaker Ghimire adjourned the meeting till Monday, July 31 at 1 pm.
