Nagarik Unmukti Party recalls lawmakers set to take oath as cabinet members

DHANGADHI: The Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has made a sudden decision to call back its provincial assembly members who were preparing to be sworn in as ministers in the Sudurpaschim province.

Rameshwar Choudhary and Kailash Chaudhary, who were in Dhangadhi to participate in the swearing-in ceremony as Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives, and Minister of State, respectively, have been summoned back by the party.

Leaders, including Ghanshyam Chaudhary, the leader of the Sudurpaschim province parliamentary party, arrived in Dhangadhi from Tikapur in the afternoon to attend the oath-taking ceremony. However, the swearing-in has been postponed due to internal disputes within the coalition.

NUP Chairman Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary wrote a letter to Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah on Tuesday, stating that her party would not participate in the oath-taking as the allocation of ministries in the provincial government did not adhere to the decision and agreement made between the coalition parties at the federal capital.
