7th Prime Minister Cup NVA League: Nepal Police gets a winning start



KATHMANDU: In the first match of the 7th Prime Minister’s Cup NVA Women’s and Men’s National Volleyball Club League undergoing in Kathmandu, Nepal Police Club has started victoriously by defeating the Gandaki Province team in straight sets.

In the first match played at the National Sports Council’s Covered Hall, the NPC’s Women’s team started victoriously by defeating Gandaki 25-10, 25-10, 25-11. Police, which has a majority of national players, easily won against Gandaki.

Spiker Usha Bhandari was declared the player of the match in the Police’s win. The first set was tied at 4(4) at one time. The Police player took advantage of the service and spike mistakes to equalize.

In the second set, Gandaki was 3-0 at the beginning. After that, the police scored 9 consecutive points. Manisha Chaudhary missed the spike and the consecutive points were disrupted. NPC easily won the third set as well. On the women’s side, there are Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Honganji New Diamond Sports Club, Nepal APF Club, Gandaki Province, and Everest Volleyball Technical Center.

The men’s teams participating in the event are Tip Tom Help Nepal Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal APF Club, Nepal Police Club, Gandaki Province, Dawoli Milan Club, and Sailung Bagdhunga Sports Club. The top two teams in both men’s and women’s sides will play in the finals.

Today, on the men’s side, Nepal Army Club is contesting against Sailung Club. In the second match, there will be a competition between Nepal Police Club and Gandaki Province at 12 noon. The last game of the day will be played today at 2 PM.
