PM Dahal’s remarks offended Nepali people: NC leader Koirala

BIRATNAGAR: Dr. Shekhar Koirala, a prominent leader of the Nepali Congress, has criticized Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s remarks made during the book release program of Pritam Singh.

Koirala emphasized that the Prime Minister’s speech has also offended the general public.

Speaking with journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, Koirala stated, “The Prime Minister’s statement has not only harmed the dignity of the Parliament but has also offended the Nepalese people.”

PM Dahal has earlier this week stated that Sardar Pritam Singh visited Delhi on multiple occasions with the intent of making Dahal the Prime Minister of Nepal.

This statement has drawn opposition from the main opposition party, CPN-UML.

Meanwhile, Koirala also expressed his discontent with the Speaker’s involvement in the Koshi Province to form the government, considering it to be in violation of the Constitution.

He stated that the Speaker’s inability to remain neutral goes against democratic principles and the Constitution.

“The Speaker should have maintained impartiality and fulfilled his responsibilities,” he added.
