BUTWAL: A ‘Blood Collection Mobile Ambulance’ has come into operation for the first time in Butwal.

The ambulance service has been started in order to address the need for a balance between the demand and supply of blood for the medical treatment of patients.

Now anyone volunteering to donate blood can do so by sitting inside the blood ambulance.

Rotary Club of Butwal handed over the blood collection ambulance to Nepal Red Cross Society Rupandehi.

Club president Bonin Piya shared that the ambulance, which is a signature project of the Rotary Club of Butwal, was purchased at a cost of Rs 7 million.

Five people can donate blood at a time using the blood collection ambulance. President of Nepal Red Cross Society Rupandehi Deepak Neupane said that the ambulance will be taken to all districts of Lumbini province to collect blood.

It is believed that the ambulance will be very useful for collecting blood especially when there is a shortage of blood.
